It was a strong showing for the Canucks as there were four in the top 10 as Bruno Langlois also with Team Garneau-Quebecor was 4th, Gaelen Merritt (Wheels Of Bloor) was 6th and another Team Garneau-Quebecor rider Zachary Hughes was 9th.
Farabaugh and Lambert-Lemay escaped with four other riders in an early break but were able to shed the others – first dropping two and then the final two – to solo into victory at the 9th Annual Tour of the Battenkill for a great start to the season for the Team Garneau-Quebecor squad.The event is a top-tier National Racing Calendar event with 3,000 riders attending the popular amateur event. Organizers recently withdrew their bid to sanction the men’s professional event with the UCI, the international governing body for cycling, due to concerns over the their handling of recent doping scandals – more here.
