November 29, 2012 (Cambridge, New York) – Organizers of the 2013 Tour of the Battenkill announce their intention to withdraw their bid to sanction the men’s professional event with the UCI, the international governing body for cycling, due to concerns over the their handling of recent doping scandals. The event will continue as a top tier National Racing Calendar event in conjunction with its popular amateur event which drew nearly 3,000 racers from more than 40 states and 20 countries in 2012. The 9th annual race is scheduled for April 13-14 in Cambridge, NY, USA.
