WTS \”Teams Up\” with BMC Software

July 16, 2003 (New York, NY) – World T.E.A.M. (The Exceptional Athlete Matters) Sports (WTS), has been named the Official Charity of the BMC Software Corporate Challenge, one of five events to be held as part of the second annual New York City Cycling Championship presented by BMC Software on Sunday, August 3, 2003.

The BMC Software Corporate Challenge is intended to encourage corporate and institutional involvement in the NYC Cycling Championship presented by BMC Software and to raise money for the ongoing work of World T.E.A.M. Sports. World T.E.A.M. Sports brings individuals with and without disabilities together to undertake unique athletic challenges throughout the world to encourage, promote and develop opportunities in sports for all people. These team-oriented athletic events, coupled with medical and educational outreach programs, stimulate the power of learning through participation. World T.E.A.M. Sports organizes many events including the annual Face of America journey, a 280 mile charity ride from New York to Washington D.C. For more information visit www.worldteamsports.org.

“We participate in many different events and the New York City Cycling Championship presented by BMC Software is a way to link corporate America with a great cause that promotes sports for all people,” said WTS Associate Director for Marketing and Corporate Relations, Bradley Glen.

Ten teams of four riders each (maximum field of forty) will compete in a ten-lap race on the 1.2 mile racecourse in Lower Manhattan. Each team will be required to make a minimum donation of $5,000. Donations will go to World T.E.A.M. Sports, earmarked for ongoing outreach programs. There are team spots available and the deadline to register is July 18th. The event begins at 8:25 AM at the Start/Finish line on Wall and Water Streets.

The New York City Cycling Championship presented by BMC Software's event producer, Threshold Sports, is a sports marketing and event management company that organizes the Pro Cycling Tour (PCT), a series of elite professional bicycle races across the nation.
