December 15, 2007 – We’re pleased to announce that the 2008 World Solo 24 Hours of Adrenalin Championships will return to its roots in beautiful Canmore Alberta Canada on July 26 & 27, 2008.

As you may very well know the first championship was held (in Canmore) back in 1999 with Rishi Grewal and Chloe Lanthier winning their respective categories.

In my opinion it’s only fitting to return to one of the best locations in the World. The town of Canmore has hosted an Adrenalin event since 1996 (2008 will mark the 13th annual event) as well as hosting the World Cup (UCI) events back in 1998 — 2000.

The 2008 event will mark the 10-year Anniversary of the championship and we really want to provide the very best experience possible for all athletes, support crews and spectators. I believe that we can delivery a special weekend for all involved.

The racecourse will include a figure eight layout allowing for spectators; to cheer and pit crews to use the additional feed zone in support of their rider(s). The Canmore Nordic Center’s three-year refurbishment program includes a new lodge and has a great deal of options for laying out a superb racecourse.

The event as always will include teams, in fact the event (teams) sold out in two and a half days a full year in advance. With 1,400 athletes on teams and another 3,000 spectators ready to show the World what a special place Kananaskis Country really is.

Canmore’s location, conveniently just West of Calgary, only 80 minutes from Calgary’s International Airport, 5 minutes East of Banff National Park (20 minutes to the town site of Banff), and virtually nestled into the northwest corner of Kananaskis Country, which is home to a multitude of Provincial (equivalent of state parks in the U.S.) and Wild-land Parks. Stand most anywhere in Canmore, turn around 360 degrees, and you will fully appreciate the term “Mountain” community. This all makes for a great opportunity to plan a vacation.

With 200 solo slots up for grabs I’ve sent this special invitation too all past participants who have taken part in past Worlds. It is my hope and desire that you will join us in celebrating what is possible. I’ve created the following two programs to reduce your cost.
