April 5, 2005 (Norristown, PA) – The Wachovia Liberty Classic, one of the nation’s most prestigious races for elite women racers, will have 24 teams competing at its 11th annual event in Philadelphia, Sunday, June 5. The 57.6-mile race consists of four laps of a 14.4-mile circuit through Philadelphia with steep climbs up the grueling Manayunk Wall. The Wachovia Liberty Classic is part of the Women’s Pro Cycling Tour, featuring National, World and Olympic Champions as well as U.S. and international stars who compete on both the domestic and world pro circuit.
According to race technical director, Robin Morton, the team selection is now closed. The North American teams are:
