June 7, 2006 – Masi Adobe Racing is excited to announce that thanks to the generous support of Masi bicycles, all entrants to the Masi-Adobe Racing – Bicycles for Humanity Cypress HIll Climb will be automatically entered to a draw prize to win a beautiful Masi Grant Criterium frameset (MSRP $1,200 USD)! It has never been easier to ride a piece of history! The draw will be held at the summit of Cypress mountain after the prize giving ceremony on Sunday July 2, 2006.

The majority of cyclists in Vancouver have tackled the two giants of the the North Shore: Cypress & Seymour, keeping track of their times and using them as a tool to gauge their fitness: There is nothing like going uphill, to let you know where your fitness level is, as there is nowhere to hide!

The ascent of Cypress has been off the race calender for a number of years and Masi Adobe Racing are excited to bring it back – and in alliance with a fantastic cause that resonates with cyclists: Bicycles for Humanity (BFH). BFH collects used and discarded bikes in North America and ships them to partner organisations in Africa (Currently Ethiopia, Namibia and Ghana) where there is a massive need for affordable, reliable transportation. The bicycles fits the bill and as each year millions of bikes are discarded in North America, there exists an enormous opportunity to empower people for whom, the bicycle has the potential to make an enormous difference in their lives. BFH needs funds to ship containers of used bikes and this is where the Cypress hill Climb Race comes in.
