June 9, 2004 – After the most successful opening month ever for the Whistler
Mountain Bike Park (WMBP), and the Garbanzo Expansion happening in less than
a month, it’s safe to say the Bike Park trail builders have been busy. And
with all of the new trails and features under construction, you’d think our
resources would be tapped, wouldn’t you? Think again. We’ve hired one of
the most innovative stunt builders in the business to create four
masterpiece features for the Whistler Mountain Bike Park and we need help
naming them. Submit a name by June 27, and put yourself in the running for
a 2004 Whistler Mountain Bike Park season pass and a pair of Marzocchi
‘Monster T’ forks.

Starting now, you can enter names for features that have been launched
weekly on our website since May. The concept is simple: click on
whistlerblackcomb.com/bike and follow the link to the “Bike Park contest.”
On the site, check out the 360-degree interactive models of each feature,
complete with interactive riders. If you’re inspired to do so, enter a
name.

At the end of the month, WMBP Freeride Team member Richie Schley will choose
his favourite names for each of the four features. PThe four winners will
receive a 2004 WMBP season pass (valued at $299 CDN) and a one-year
subscription to Bike Magazine. Each winner will also be entered to win a
pair of Marzocchi ‘Monster T’ forks worth approximately $1,800 CDN!

The much-anticipated Garbanzo Expansion launch takes place on June 26th at
11am. Featuring a third high-speed lift and a slew of new adrenaline-filled
trails in the WMBP, Garbanzo is sure to be a hit. Stay tuned in July for
Crankworx, the premiere freeride mountain bike celebration on the planet.
The festival takes place from July 22 to 25 and features some of freeride
mountain biking’s biggest events.
