October 17, 2006 – The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) will be working together to stem the flow of doping in sports.
Interpol’s Secretary General Ronald K. Noble and WADA’s Director General David Howman recently met at the headquarters of the international police in Lyons, France to firm up their ties.
“By working with WADA, Interpol is clearly showing the world that doping is not acceptable and that action needs to be taken against those who cheat, so that honest athletes can have the results that they deserve,” says Noble.
The two organizations agreed to establish a charter giving a clear structure to their collaboration in the fight against doping.
