VW Trek 2008 Roster – Eric Boily and Bruno Langlois Return

November 28, 2007 – Rejoining Equipe Volkswagen Trek for 2008, both Eric Boily and Bruno Langlois will be assured of being able to count on an established team that will permit them to attain their personal objectives (note: both rode for EVA-Devinci in 2007).

Their return to VW Trek allows them to fully concentrate on their training and could be a stepping stone to a higher level professional team. Keven Lacombe (now with Kelly Benefit Strategies/Medifast) found VW Trek to be such a stepping stone in 2007.

Volkswagen-Trek’s mandate is clear: since the team’s creation more than 20 years ago, it has been scouting for talented Quebec cyclists and exposing them to the North American pro cycling scene.

For the 2008 season, veteran team member, Alexandre Cloutier will be aiming for the Paralympics Games in Beijing with his tandem team mate Daniel Chalifour. (note: this tandem duo did very well at the recent 2007 Pan American Open Paracycling Championships in Cali, Colombia.)

Jean Sébastien Béland is another returning veteran team member and will share his experience with younger team mates. Marc Allard will move to the espoir category with Christian Deshaies in his second year.

New team members in 2008 are Jean Michel Lachance, François Chabot, François Charles Malo, and Arnaud Papillon, all promising cyclists in the espoir category. This will make 2008 a happy blend of youth and experience.
