VOTE for Ontario’s Worst Roads – CAA Launches New Campaign

release by the CAA
March 30, 2012 (Ontario) – Poorly maintained roads, highways and inadequate road infrastructure are growing problems in many areas of Ontario. The Canadian Automobile Association (CAA) and the Ontario Road Builders Association are calling on road users throughout the province to raise awareness about the need for improved infrastructure by voting for Ontario’s worst road.

Whether the issue is traffic congestion, potholes, timing of traffic lights, road signs or pedestrian and cycling safety, we want to hear from you.

Over the years, thousands of Ontarians have voted and approximately 90 per cent of the roads on CAA’s Worst Roads list have been or are scheduled to be repaired. Following the campaign, CAA will compile a Top 10 List and share the results and our recommendations with Ontario’s provincial and municipal governments.

CAA’s Worst Roads campaign helps draw attention to Ontario’s deteriorating roads and highways. Since the inception of the campaign in 2003, 90 percent of the roads nominated to the annual list have been repaired or are scheduled to be repaired.

Vote HERE for the road that you think is most in need of improvement. You will be entered for a chance to win the Daily Prize – a $50 gas card – or the Grand Prize of gas for a year! (valued at $2,500.00 CAD)
