December 02, 2012 (Toronto, ON) – CBC Sports The People’s Pick: Athlete of the Year poll was recently launched (on Nov. 30) and Canada’s Ryder Hesjedal (Victoria, BC/Garmin-Barracuda), 2012 Olympian and Gira d’Italia winner is leading by a slim margin of 37.96% over soccer’s Christine Sinclair with 37.37%. Six prominent athletes are in contention for the title.
