Volunteers Still Needed for Six Days of Burnaby

January 4, 2007 – The first two nights of racing have been awesome, with tough competition in all categories so far. Things are stepping up starting tonight, with food and “beverages” being served during the racing, for the enjoyment of all.

If anyone would like to be a part of this event and would like to volunteer their time to help augment our efforts, whether it be with rider registration, setup, teardown, or race ‘marshalling’, please let me know. All help would be greatfully accepted. We are a little understaffed at present, and could really use some additional help. Volunteer efforts will be rewarded by event t-shirts and food.

Also the Burnaby Velodrome was featured on CityTV’s Breakfast Television this morning. Andy George, Scott Laliberte, Gina Grain, and Glenn Barr each did short 2-minute segments on track cycling, the Six Day, and women in racing.

Tasha Chiu (host) also did a few laps around the track. That’s the second TV spot we’ve done this week! If anyone happened to catch this on vhs, please send me an email.
