June 8, 2004 – The Redlands Classic Committee wants you! In return, you
will have fun, get fed, get a shirt, be part of history and if you bring
friends along, earn money for your favorite non-profit. The Classic
Committee still needs marshals to protect and direct the riders in their
quest for Olympic glory. It takes over 300 marshals to cover all the
positions on PoolGel Elite National Championship and Team USA Selection
Races held June 16, 17 and 19. The race in Moreno Valley sandwiched
between the two in Redlands and Yucaipa that will crown 4 National
Champions and pick the three final members of the US Olympic Cycling Team.
The all-volunteer Classic Committee makes donations to organizations that
send ten people or more to work the event.
It has been 20 years since an event that was held in the Inland Empire had
Olympic qualifying implications. The cycling event is one of the few that
you can watch or better yet, volunteer for rather then paying an
attendance fee.
If you or your organization wants to be a part of the event, contact Tim
and Penny Adams at (909) 797-5776.
