December 6, 2007 – Alexandre Vinokourov (Kaz), formerly with Team Astana, received a one-year ban from the Kazakhstan Cycling Federation after testing positive for blood doping during the Tour de France in July of 2007, according to an AP report.
Vinokourov, was fired by Team Astana after his B Sample, which was collected after he won Stage 13 of the 2007 Tour, confirmed the positive test in his A Sample. Both samples showed Vinokourov had received a blood transfusion.
Vinokourov will be banned from competition for one year from the date of his positive test.
