March 4, 2006 – Well…yesterday started bright and early for the road women and the MTB gals. The roadies went over to Winters, CA, the home of their Director Sportif, Myke Berna’s bike shop, Velo City Bicycles. (www.velocitybicycles.com) After having Myke’s loving touch go over their new Kona Queen Zings, the roadies then went on about a 2.5 hour “light” ride with some climbing to loosen up the legs.
Myke then sat the gals down at a round table discussion where they discussed palentology, evolution vs. religion, Dianetics, and most importantly, having fun racing bikes and learning what it means to “Ride like a Pro”. Road Team Manager Brent Chapman was able to capture some of the fun on camera: Meanwhile, back in Sacramento, the MTB women were busy getting their test on (or is that Testa-on?) at the UC Davis Medical center.
After that, they went back up to the mountains (Okay, Auburn) and sat around the campfire, telling scary stories and how to best exfoliate after a 4 hour training ride. No shots of that yet, hopefully we’ll get some soon! As always, with any questions, comments, or concerns, my phone is always on.
