Urgent Need for Volunteers & Participants with the Shelley Gautier Para-Sport Foundation + Free Handcycling Program

release by The Shelley Gautier Para-Sport Foundation

August 22, 2017 (Ontario) – The Shelley Gautier Para-Sport Foundation is still in urgent need for volunteers and participants to sustain our riding sessions in the Niagara Region on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Our free riding program is offered to individuals with disabilities who have an interest in staying active or just trying something new!

Niagara Volunteers Jessica.2Our Niagara Region chapter has several hand cycles available and encourages people with disabilities to join our program in an effort to lead a healthy lifestyle and remain active in their community. In order to keep participants safe and supported, we need dedicated volunteers who are willing to contribute their skills and experience to this community initiative while meeting new people in a recreational environment. Our goal is to improve the lives of people with disabilities, break barriers and create awareness of adaptive sports, as well as allow fun and rewarding work for volunteers.

Niagara Participants Jessica.2

We believe that your organization would be able to help us promote our cycling program to potential participants and volunteers, and have included an electronic volunteer and participant poster to this email that you may distribute to colleagues, members, or other individuals who you think would be interested in joining our rides. No cycling experience is required to join this exciting opportunity; however, volunteers will be required to bring their own bikes and helmets.

Please join us on Tuesdays from 3:00pm to 6:00pm at Allanburg Community Centre (1560 Falls St, Allanburg) and Thursdays from 3:00pm to 6:00pm at Kingsbridge Park (7870 Niagara Pkwy, Niagara Falls).

On behalf of The Shelley Gautier Para-Sport Foundation, I would like to thank you for your time in reading this email and for assisting in growing the Niagara Region chapter to reach new individuals that can directly benefit from our program!
