June 26, 2007 – Hi Cyclists, here is a short update on fund-raising rides in Atlantic Canada that are posted on atlanticpedaler.com. The Diabetes Century Ride in P.E.I. has been canceled for this year and will be run next year during Labour Day weekend. The two fund-raising rides left for the 2007 year are:
August 4, 2007
Biking for Breakfast
Distance: Team Relay, Custom Course, Solo Full 278 km in one day.
The third annual Biking for Breakfast Challenge is taking place on August 4, 2007. Last year’s event doubled in Rider Participation and in the money raised to support Breakfast Programs all across P.E.I. You can choose between bicycling the entire tip-to-tip across P.E.I. in one day (278 km) or select any number of partial or custom courses. With support vehicles to carry your gear (or, at times, yourself), transportation to and from the event, and an incredible province in the background . . . what more could you ask.
You can also grab a few of your friends or co-workers and form a team. The options are limitless; the challenge is yours; and the benefit is to our children and our communities across this province.
With early registration already at over 30 riders with over a month to go to the event, the event will surely surpass the 75 riders that is the goal and the $10,000 pledges raised.
Registration is only $10 with a suggested pledge donation of at least $50.
