September 6, 2007 – Here is information about some upcoming races in Alberta and Manitoba, including the Moose Mountain Super D near Bragg Creek, Alberta, Manitoba MTB Cup #5 and Woodhaven “˜Cross.


Moose Mountain Super D – Septemeber 9

Registration will take place from 9:00 a.m. until 11:30. The race will commence at 1:00 p.m. sharp. Award ceremony to take place at 4:30 The race fee to enter is $35.00, and please note that this event is NOT an ABA sanctioned race, therefore you DO NOT require a license in order to race. There will be race day registration available, and you may also register on-line.

Once again, Calgary Cycle is the title sponsor for this event, so look forward to lots of prizes, and goodies to be given away! Come out for a day in the great outdoors, and get your bikes ready for a fast one!!

When: Sunday September 9th

Where: Moose Mountain near Bragg Creek

Start Point: Top of Moose Mountain

Finish Point: Flats, just before Tom Snow

Skill Categories: Junior, Senior, Master (M/F in each)

Manitoba MTB Cup #5 – September 16

Birch Ski Area located west of Roseisle, Manitoba

– 17 and up Prereg. $20 Race Day $30
– Under 17 Prereg. $15 Race Day $20
– Under 11 Prereg. $5 Race Day $5
– Pre-registration closes on Thursday, Sept 13, 4:30pm

Registration times are as follows:

– U15 and younger 9am-10am
– U17 and older 9am-10:30am

Start times are as follows:

– U15 and younger – 11am
– U17 and older – noon

Adults laps will be approximately 8 kilometres, kids will race a modified course.

Woodhaven ‘Cross 2007 – Sunday September 23

Woodcock Cycle Works is pleased to open the cyclo-cross season on September 23!

Dust off that hardtail, or put the fattest tires you can on that old road bike, and join us for a fun time at Woodhaven Park Community Club, 200 Glendale, Manitoba.

The course offers a mix of fast sections, sand patches, short climbs, mud sections, and of course, barriers!

Approximate Race Times:

– 09:00 Kids (under 13) 15 minutes plus 1 lap
– 10:00 “B” Category 30 minutes plus 2 laps
– 11:30 “A” Category 45 minutes plus 2 laps

Prizes are provided by Woodcock Cycle and all proceeds from the event will be donated to the Lung Association of Manitoba

Race Fees:

A and B Categories: $10 before Thursday, September 20th, $ 15 thereafter
Under 13: $5

On site registration will close 1.0 hour before your race time.
