October 14, 2003 (Las Vegas, Nevada) – The UCI Mountain Bike World Cup makes it's move east to Calgary's Canadian Olympic Park for 2004. The MTB World Cup triple, held the last three years on Vancouver's Grouse Mountain, will make its Calgary debut on July 1st, 2004. The event will also be combined with Calgary's Bike Festival.
Event organizers Upsolut mv GmbH, also responsible for events such as Europe's well-established TransAlps and Western Canada's TransRockies Challenge, are very excited about the World Cup's new venue. Over 400 of the world's top mountan bikers, including Cedric Gracia, Greg Minaar, Roland Green and Alison Sydor, to name a few, are expected to attend along with media from over 100 countries.
