July 12, 2003 (Grouse Mt, Vancouver, BC) – What a crazy day up at Grouse Mountain. Half way through the men's DH race, shortly after Gary Houseman (Intense Cycles) had his run, the skies opened up and boy did it pour. Not only did it pour, a fog rolled down the mountain and at times visibility was only ten feet, at max. In the end, Houseman walked away with his first World Cup win ever.

Top riders like Cedric Gracia (Siemens/Cannondale), Nathan Rennie (Mad Catz/Ironhorse) and Greg Minnaar (Haro/Lee Dunagarees) rode down in the fog, and although they had qualifying run time times that put them in the top 15, these riders finished in 48th, 41st and 51st, respectively.

Canadian rider Mathieu Laurin had an excellent run and finished with his best World Cup result ever in 8th place. Trevor Porter also had a great run finishing 17th just ahead of Jordie Lunn in 18th.
