UCI/MTB World Cup DH – Women

June 28, 2003 (Mont-Ste-Anne, QC) – Great Britain's Fionn Griffiths took the women's DH race yesterday with an average speed of 37.57km to get her down the mountain with a time of 1:55.0. Griffiths out-raced Tracy Moseley (GBR, Kona Clarks) by just over a tenth of a second for the win! American Marla Streb (Luna Chix) was third, one second down.

Canadian Michelle Dumaresq was Canada's highest placed rider in 13th. BC rider Claire Buchar (Balfa) was 15th, and Sheila Morris and Cassidy Johnson (Independent) were 17th and 18th respectively.

With two events remaining in the series, Moseley is sitting in the leaders jersey with 55pts. Sabrina Jonnier (Intense/Fox) and Griffiths round out the top three, sitting in second and third with 462pts and 421pts respectively.

After her ride, Dumaresq is sitting in 22nd place overall after racing only one event. Buchar, Morris and Johnson are in 27th, 28th, and 29th respectively. The series continues July 10-13th in Vancouver, B.C. at Grouse Mountain.
