June 3, 2006 (Willingen, Germany) — The UCI World Cup downhill excitement leaps from Scotland to Willingen, Germany this weekend, along with several Canadian riders. Fort William saw a large number of Canadian competitors, with Claire Buchar (CAN, Specialized-Rock Shox) delivering the nation’s top result with a 14-place run.
The world’s best are on the start list again this weekend as Tracy Moseley (GBR, Kona-Les Gets) and Samuel Hill (AUS, Monster-Iron Horse-Mad Catz) defend their downhill series leads in the women’s and men’s events.
The downhill final begins at 2:30 p.m. local time (8:30 a.m. EST) on Sunday, June 4.

Steve Smith (CAN, Team Cove Bikes) was planning on starting, but is out because of a broken collar bone.
