May 7, 2006 (Vigo, Spain) – Tracy Moseley (GBR, Kona-Les Gets) and Michael Hannah (AUS, Cannondale-The Cut) took top honours in the women’s and men’s UCI World Cup downhill season opener today in Vigo, Spain.

Sabrina Jonnier (FRA, Iron Horse) made it a double silver weekend, after placing second in Saturday’s women’s 4X event. Emmeline Ragot (FRA, QBikes) cruised to a solid third-place finish on the short, fast course.

Two Canadian women zoomed into the top 10 – Danika Schroeter (CAN) and Claire Buchar (CAN) placed seventh and 10th, respectively.

After qualifying first on Saturday, Greg Minnaar (RSA, G-Cross-Honda) was expected to be on the podium, but a dramatic crash ended his medal hopes. Instead, it was Hannah who grabbed the win, followed by fellow Aussie Nathan Rennie (AUS). Steve Peat (GBR) finished third.
