February 28, 2018 (Apeldoorn, NED) – The Canadian Women’s Team Pursuit squad of Allison Beveridge, Ariane Bonhomme, Annie Foreman-Mackey and Stephanie Roorda qualified 5th and advanced to the First Round on Day 1 as the 2018 UCI Track World Championships kicked off in Apeldoorn, Netherlands. The squad will face-off against Poland tomorrow.

Then the Canadian men’s team of Michael Foley, Derek Gee, Adam Jamieson  and Jay Lamoureux delivered a top-8 qualification time to also make the First Round. The Canucks went up against New Zealand but the Kiwis were faster although both squads did not make the medal rounds.

In the Women’s 40-lap (10km) Scratch Race final Canada’s Jasmin Duehring finished 7th as Kirsten Wild (Netherlands won gold over Belgium’s Jolien D’Hoore who earned the silver while Amalie Dideriksen (Denmark) won bronze.
