September 27, 2014 (Ponferrada, Spain) – The Elite Women’s 127.4km is underway in sunny conditions with 134 riders on the start line including defending champ Marianne Vos (Netherlands) looking to defend her title again against many contenders including Giorgia Bronzini and Rossella Ratto from Italy along with Emma Johansson from Sweden. Canada has four riders on the start line including Karol-Ann Canuel, Leah Kirchmann, Joelle Numainville and Lex Albrecht.
