September 23, 2014 (Ponferrada, Spain) – Canada’s Karol-Anne Canuel had a superb ride claiming a stellar 6th overall in the Elite Women’s ITT, 29.5km, won by Lisa Brennauer (Germany), the only rider to break 39 min.

Anna Solovey from the Ukraine set the best time late in the race but had to settle for second as the USA’s Evelyn Stevens claimed the bronze after missing out last year when she finished 4th. Reigning Canadian ITT champ, Leah Kirchmann, Canada’s second rider on the start line finished 27th.

Canuel was second at both checkpoints and finished strong to sit in second place on the Shimano hot seat until the final riders came in and she ended up 6th. The rain arrived late in the race and was coming down in torrents when defending champ Ellen van Dijk (Ned) finished her ride ending up seventh.
