September 22, 2013 (Florence, Italy) – In a very close battle in the Elite Men’s 56.8km TTT at the UCI Road World Championships, Omega Pharma-Quickstep defended their title by a mere 0.81s as Orica-GreenEdge, third last year, was aiming for the top step following their Tour de France TTT victory.

Team Sky took third as BMC in second last year dropped to 4th overall out of 35 teams. Canada’s Svein Tuft was on the Orica GreenEdge team, Dominique Rollin rode with FDJ.fr, Hugo Houle was with AG2R La Mondiale and Ryan Anderson raced on the Optum P/B Kelly Benefit Strategies team.
