UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships Day 1 – Silver and Bronze for Canada

March 14, 2019 (Apeldoorn, Netherlands) – Team Canada took home silver and bronze medals on the opening day of the 2019 UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships which run March 14-17 in Apeldoorn, Netherlands.

Top qualifier, Canadian Tristen Chernove of Cranbrook, BC, the defending C2 Individual Pursuit champ, settled for silver as Darren Hicks from Australian raced to the top step on the podium claiming the gold.

Fellow Canuck, Ross Wilson of Sherwood Park, Alberta, who qualified third, won bronze in the men’s C1 Individual Pursuit competition besting Pierre Senska of Germany as Ricardo Ten Argiles (Spain) won gold over Zhangyu Li (China).

Canada’s Marie-Claude Molnar finished 11th and was followed by teammate Keely Shaw in 12th in the Women’s C4 500 metre time trial won by Kadeena Cox (Great Britain).
