July 26, 2013 (Vallnord, Andorra) – Canada’s Mark Wallace (Devinci Global Racing) qualified third today in the Junior Men’s DH Qualifications in Andorra as Michael Jones (Gbr) FMD Racing/Intense Cycles topped the field. In the Elite Women’s Qualifications Manon Carpenter (Gbr) Madison Saracen Downhill Team outpaced Rachel Atherton (Gbr) GT Factory Racing in second and Emmeline Ragot (Fra) Lapierre Gravity Republic in third – no Canadian women are competing.
In the Elite Men’s Qualifications Steve Smith (Devinci Global Racing) lead the Canucks in 21st followed by Kyle Sangers in 38th and Remi Gauvin in 50th as all made the finals (top 80 men advance). Australia’s Samuel Hill (Chain Reaction cycles.com/Nukeproof) topped the men’s field today.
