September 06, 2014 (Hafjell, Norway) – The Elite Women’s race is now underway with great weather greeting the 67 riders on the start line. There are lots of contenders including crowd favourite multi-decorated Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjaa (Nor) and Catharine Pendrel from Canada also  former MTB Worlds champ (2011). Also in the mix are Maja Wloszczowska (Pol), Tanja Zakelj (Slo) Unior Tools Team, Eva Lechner (Ita) Team Colnago Sudtirol and Sabine Spitz (Ger) Sabine Spitz Haibike Pro Team. Other Canadians joining Pendrel on the start line include Emily Batty, Sandra Walter and Mikaela Kofman.
