“Heavy rains and powerful winds caused damage and flooded much of the Masters course which led the organizers to delay the start by two hours until the worst had passed and they had time to do repairs. Many wood chips came to the rescue of the main start/finish area.
The rain made for a very muddy and exhausting course. As the day wore on and it began to dry a little it went from a soggy messy to very sticky. Racers used “chunky peanut butter” to describe conditions,” commented Kraiker.
