January 31, 2013 (Louisville, Kentucky) – James Laird (First Capital Cycling) won Canada’s first gold medal at the 2013 UCI Masters World Championships in Louisville, Kentucky today claiming the victory in the Men’s 60-64 final. The only other Canuck racing in the afternoon final championship races was Aleks Macklem (CAN) Lamprey Systems who came 13th in the Women’s 40-44 race won by Susan Butler (USA) Ind. Kari Studley (USA) Team Redline won the Women 30-34 – no Canadians competed.
