October 9, 2008 – The UCI has renewed three organisers’ licenses and awarded one team license. Based on the applications submitted, the Licenses Commission, which met in Geneva on September 18, has announced that it has granted a four-year UCI ProTour license, from January 1, 2009 until December 31, 2012, to the following three events:

– Vattenfall Cyclassics (GER)
РCrit̩rium du Dauphin̩ Lib̩r̩ (FRA)
– Tour de Suisse (SUI)

These races join the 2009 UCI ProTour calendar alongside the Tour Down Under (AUS), la Vuelta Ciclista al Pais Vasco (ESP), le Tour de Romandie (SUI), la Volta Ciclista a Catalunya (ESP), la Clasica Ciclista San Sebastian-San Sebastian (ESP), le Tour de Pologne (POL) et le GP Ouest France-Plouay (FRA). Other license requests are currently being studied by the Licenses Commission.

The Licenses Commission also awarded a UCI ProTour license, for the same period, to the team Garmin – Chipotle Presented by H3O (USA).
