Martijn Budding (Netherlands) claimed the silver as he was second all race with three Belgians chasing. On the final lap Adam Toupalik (Czech Republic) who had moved up was able to pass Yannick Peeters (Belgium) who crashed and the other Belgians to take over third and take home the bronze.
The USA’s Logan Owen, who moved up from 9th to third but fell back, was able to regroup and finish a strong 4th behind Toupalik to the delight of local fans. Peter Disera was the top Canadian in 19th.
