February 14, 2005 – UCI and the Dew Action Sports Tour announce the inclusion of the UCI BMX Supercross as a specialty competition at the Tour’s fourth event, Sept 8-11 2005 at the HP Pavilion, San Jose, CA USA.

“We are very excited to be able to include the UCI BMX Supercross in the highly anticipated and prestigious 2005 Dew Action Sports Tour”, said Johan Lindstrom, UCI BMX Sports Coordinator. “This will be an excellent opportunity to show BMX racing at its best and gives us a platform to promote BMX racing in a format we can expect in the 2008 Olympics.”

“We are pleased to be hosting a leg of the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup at the Toyota stop in San Jose in September 2005, as one of our specialty competitions. The UCI has evolved the sport of BMX and we are enthusiastic about its involvement with the Tour. BMX Supercross is a great compliment to our park, vert, and dirt BMX disciplines,” said Wade Martin, General Manager of the Dew Action Sports Tour.

The UCI BMX Supercross World Cup is the premier international BMX racing series featuring three rounds in Europe and North America, with the finals being held together with the Dew Action Sports Tour. With 8 riders going head-to-head on a highly technical BMX track, the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup features BMX racing in an exciting and spectacular format, tailor-made for the very best BMX athletes in the world.
