UCI Announces 2013 MTB World Cup Calendar

November 02, 2012 – The International Cycling Union has published the 2013 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup calendar on its website. Next year, the RockyRoads UCI Mountain Bike World Cup presented by Shimano will comprise eight rounds in eight different countries. It will include five cross-country eliminator (XCE) rounds and six each for downhill (DHI) and Olympic cross-country (XCO).

New to the World Cup calendar in 2013 is Albstadt, in Germany, which will host the opening round on May 18th and 19th with the first XCO and XCE competitions. The season will get underway for the DHI specialists three weeks later in Fort William, Great Britain.

After organising a successful test event in 2012, the city of Guiyang, in China, will put forward its candidature to host a round of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in 2014.

– May 25-26 – UCI World Cup XCO #2 / XCE #2 – Nove Mesto na Morave, Czech Republic
– June 8-9 – UCI World Cup DHI #1 – Fort William, Scotland
– June 15-16 – UCI World Cup XCO #3 / XCE #3 / DHI #2 – Val Di Sole, Italy
– June 29-30 – UCI Marathon World Championships – Kirchberg, Austria
– July 27-28 – UCI World Cup XCO #4 / XCE #4 / DHI #3 – Vallnord, Andorra
– August 10-11 – UCI World Cup XCO #5 / DHI #4 – Mont-Sainte-Anne, Canada
– August 26 – September 1 – UCI XCO/XCE/DHI/4X World Championships – Pietermaritzburg, South Africa
– September 14-15 – UCI World Cup XCO #6 / XCE #5 / DHI #5 – Hafjell, Norway
– September 21-22 – UCI World Cup DHI #6 – Leogang, Austria
