August 8, 2003 – The TransRockies Challenge 2003 is set to go on August 10-17 and organizers recently confirmed the re-routing of the first three days of the event due to forest fires in Southwestern Alberta. Organizers were keeping a close watch on the situation and are happy with the new trails that they feel are as challenging and scenic as original route that was closed due to the forest fires. Here is the confirmed route for participants.

Fernie (Main Street) to Fernie Alpine Resort (August 10)
Fernie Alpine Resort to Elkford (August 11)
Elkford to Etherington (August 12)
Etherington to Sandy McNabb (August 13)
Sandy McNabb to Bragg Creek (August 14)
Bragg Creek to Pine Grove (August 15)
Pine Grove to Canmore (August 16)
