May 10, 2003 – Further to the previous UCI memo regarding the cancellation of the 2003 Track World Championships to be held in Shenzhen, China, the UCI announced that they have made an agreement with the city of Stuttgart, in Germany, who will take over the challenge of organizing this competition. Even though time will be short, the UCI is convinced, together with the Host Federation Bund Deutscher Radfahrer, that this event will be organized on the level necessary for the World Championships.
