July 21, 2002 (Whiterock, BC) – In a stunning show of strength the two
Saturn Brothers Frank and Mark McCormack, drove a break of six racers long
enough until they knew they were in the clear to win. In the closing
kilometres, the two Saturn riders attacked hard to drop their breakaway
companions, including Joe Giulliano (Atlas Cold), Simon Small (Atlas Cold)
and Min Van Velzen (Sympatico/Jetfuel). In what remained of the bunch,
Andrew Pinfold (Atlas Cold) took the sprint over Eric Wohlberg (Saturn)
for 6th.

In the Women’s race it was former national champion Sandy Espeseth who took
first again in her home province. She powered over National team rider
Leigh Goldstein, as well as Rona rider Manon Jutras.
