September 26, 2004 – Roberto Heras (Liberty Seguros) has held on to the overall lead of the Vuelta today in the final stage of the Spanish Tour: He defeated Phonak’s Santiago Perez who won today’s stage. Heras was fourth, 13 seconds behind but enough for the win as he had half a minute to spare.
