Tour of California Start List – 11 Canadians on Board

May 12, 2011 – Eleven Canadians will line up for the start of the Amgen Tour of California in Lake Tahoe, May 15-22, amidst a world-class field of over 140 racers and 18 teams, including Canada’s UCI Pro Continental Team, SpiderTech Powered by C10. Riders will race over 1,200km during the week.

“The preliminary rosters for the 2011 Amgen Tour of California once again feature some of the top talent in the world,” said Andrew Messick, president of AEG Sports. “The caliber of riders participating this year will create a challenging race and a fierce competition starting on Sunday.”

In addition to the strong Canadian talent, pro riders like Andy Schleck (Lux) Leopard Trek, Levi Leipheimer (USA) Team RadioShack, Thor Hushovd (Nor) Team Garmin-Cervelo, and Oscar Freire (Esp) Rabobank Cycling Team will be in the mix.
