February 22, 2007 – Today’s stage from Seaside to San Luis Obispo will be similar to last year’s route, for a total of 215.2km. Travelling along the famous Highway 1, riders will be faced with three KOMs in the longest stage of the Amgen Tour of California.

The 6-hour plus ride will include some historic monuments of Americana, including the legendary Big Sur – known from American literature greats Henry Miller and Jack Kerouac – as well as being a favourite haunt of Hollywood celebs past and present. The riders will also ride by newspaper mogul Randolf Hearst’s former abode – Hearst Castle – fictionalized in the film classic “Citizen Kane.”
