Tour of Bahamas 2007 — Stage 1

February 4, 2007 — The Tour of the Bahamas February 2-4, 2007 has become the major event on the Bahamian cycling calendar. For locals it is a chance to test their abilities against some of the premier cyclists from abroad while it provides an early season barometer of fitness and an escape from winter weather for a number of overseas based riders. The event follows the roads of New Providence along the Southwestern and Northwestern coastlines at times offering breath- taking views of the turquoise waters that surround the island.

The JAR Cycling Tour of the Bahamas is spread over three stages with something for everyone; sprints, hills, time trials and of course good old fashioned Bahamian hospitality.

The Tour is organized by JAR Cycling Company Limited and its only goals are to promote cycling in the Bahamas and to raise funds for the JAR Cycling program which provides equipment including bikes, clothing, shoes as well as the opportunity to travel abroad to race in Florida for some of the promising juniors on the island.
