What’s New This Year? Exciting News!

Each year we strive to ensure that the Tour For Kids personal experience is the best that it can be. This year, we have made some special changes that we hope you are going to enjoy. Some of our exciting changes include:

New Start & Finish Location:
The beautiful Richmond Hill Golf and Country Club (RHGCC.) Riders will enjoy beautiful rolling country hills within minutes of departure.

First Two Nights at Trent University:
Unpack once and ride twice. Spectacular routes planned, with 3 cycling distances to choose from. Evening BBQ, pub, entertainment and great friends will ’round out the evenings.

Night #3, Camp Whitepine, Haliburton
No more tents! Bring your sleeping bag and enjoy the company of friends in your cozy cabins. Great BBQ food, with the promise of a pastry chef to tempt your palates with decadent desserts! One more day of riding before the grand finale back at the RHGCC.

The Celebratory Finish:
Hold on to your pedals because we have a grand finale planned for our cyclists and families, volunteers and major sponsors. Families, children and friends will be invited to partake in the Tour For Kids Family Day at the RHGCC on Sunday, August 23rd. The Family Day celebration begins at 11am with a carnival loaded with fun activities for the kids! Tickets will be available on-line at a low price so everyone can join in!

Family and friends will be on hand to cheer and greet the riders as they complete the final leg of their 2 or 4-day journey. Stay and enjoy the evening festivities on the beautiful outdoor patios. Evening festivities include a BBQ and buffet dinner (tickets will be available for non-riders to purchase at a low cost), a cash bar, live entertainment. With friends and family by your side, you can celebrate your personal accomplishment, knowing you have made a tremendous difference in the lives of children and teenagers with cancer.

Top Fundraisers — Get Ready! Our top fundraisers will be invited to participate in a culinary and wine experience withLes Marmitons at an upscale cuisine. Our top fundraisers will participate in the preparation, and presentation of fine cuisines under the direction of a specially selected professional chef. Significant others will be invited to join the evening and partake in the culinary creations. A thank you to the Toronto President of Les Marmitons, our very own rider, Chris Chambers for arranging this exciting evening.

Dear Friends,

On behalf of Coast to Coast Against Cancer, we would like to thank you for choosing to ride with us in Tour For Kids this summer. With many new and exciting additions to the Tour, we are sure that you, your families and friends will want to join in on the fun. We would like to thank our sponsors, riders and volunteers for making Tour For Kids such a big success year over year and in turn, providing ongoing and sustainable funding which the Oncology camps rely upon.

The Oncology Camps are hard at work planning for the thousands of children with cancer who are excited and looking forward to their summer camp experience, where they will unite with friends and counselors after a winter of treatments and challenges. And, of course, there are the hundreds of children newly diagnosed this past year who will experience the magic and healing powers of camp for the very first time. To our families and friends who have lost your children this year, our hearts are with you. Your children continue to be the inspiration for all of us, and helps unite us in the struggle against childhood cancer

Please talk to your friends, colleagues and family and ask them to support the Tour by riding, volunteering or making a generous donation. They can feel good knowing that 100% of their donations will go directly to the summer and In-hospital camps we support.

Childhood cancer doesn’t take a break, even during these challenging economic times. The financial challenges are never felt as great than by the families who are already experiencing the financial burden of caring for a child with cancer. This year, more than ever, we are counting on each of you to do your best with fundraising to ensure that every child with cancer is able to partake of the great camp experience which help them to feel normal again.
