August 12, 2008 – You are invited to the Tour for Kids Exciting Kick Off and Grand Finale Return celebrations, Thursday, August 14 and Sunday, August 17 at the Mississauga Civic Centre.

Tour For Kids – 5th Year Celebration!
This year is a very exciting year for us, as it marks the 5th anniversary of Tour For Kids. Our Tour For Kids Alberta had its best year ever, with more participants and more money raised than last year. Because of your support, not only are we able to ensure that 100% of individual donations raised go to the charities we support, you are also making it possible for so many more deserving children impacted by cancer to attend special oncology camps where they can get the care and attention they deserve, and for a brief time, just be a kid again.

Opening Celebration Kick Off! – Thurs Aug 14
Bring your families and friends and join us the exciting kick off of Tour For Kids. Opening ceremonies include special guest speaker, Mr. Bill Charles from our title Sponsor, Investors Group and a mother who will share in their family’s personal struggles and triumphs as their athletic daughter refuses to let childhood cancer stop her from being an active child.

Live entertainment by singer songwriter, Marc Ekins and a continental breakfast will round out the morning, with media and photographers on hand as riders, sponsors and volunteers share their reasons for being involved in this great cause

Be part of the excitement and help cheer on as hundreds of riders depart on their 1st of four days of riding, all in support of children with cancer. Bring your noise makers, and banners, and help make this a spectacular send off!

Breakfast begins at 6:30 am with opening ceremonies at 8:00 am, and riders departing sharply at 9:00 am.

Return Celebration – Sunday, August 17
Tour For Kids riders finish their final leg of riding and return to the Mississauga Civic Center. Bring your families and friends and help celebrate the return of our Tour For Kids community riders!

Grand finale celebrations are open to the whole family and are from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm:

– Outdoor Grills and Buffet
– Face Painting
– Inflatible hockey for the older kids (moms and dads, too!)
– Tour For Kids Fashion Boutique is open for mementos!

Highlights of the celebrations wil include live performances by “Hello Beautiful” and the return of 14-yr old Adam Fedosoff of Barrie, lead guitarist for Tantrum, an AC/DC cover band. Adam was diagnosed in May of 2007 with Leukemia and despite his ongoing battle with cancer, is looking forward to playing his heart out for us.

Directions and Parking – The Mississauga Civic Centre
The Mississauga Civic Center is located at 300 City Centre Drive, Mississauga. (Hwy 10 or Main Street & Burnhamthorpe Road). Please enter west from the Living Arts Blvd onto east bound City Centre Drive which is 1 block north of Burnamthorpe. Follow the signs and watch for the volunteers directing cars to the free, underground parking.

Sending More Kids to Camp
Help us to meet our fundraising goal this year of $1 million — which means sending more deserving children to camp and year ’round programmes. One week of camp, on average, costs $700.00! One hundred percent of the rider donations go directly to Camp Trillium, Camp Oochigeas and Camp Quality.

Donations will be accepted on-line at www.tourforkids.com and at the Tour For Kids mailbox until September 30th.
