July 25, 2004 – Tom Boonen (Quick.Step) took the final gallop to the line in Paris today, beating Jean-Patrick Nazon (AG2R) and Gerolsteiner’s Danilo Hondo. Lance Armstrong (USPS) finished just off the back of the main group, celebrating his record-breaking sixth overall Tour win. Quick.Step’s Richard Virenque won the climber’s jersey, Lotto’s Robbie McEwen took the points jersey, Vladmir Karpets (Iles Baleares) is the best young rider at this year’s Tour, and T-Mobile won the overall team G.C.
