July 19, 2003 (Delta, BC) – Some of North America's top teams gathered in Delta, B.C. to be a part of the kickoff BC Super Cycling Week. The Tour de Delta sparked the beginning of the week of races and events with their 700 metre hill climb. Riders race up the hill two at a time, on different sides of the road, to get their best time.
A total of 90 Men and 35 women were at the start line to compete for the win. In the men's field it was Bell Zach, who climbed the hill with the fastest time of one minute, eight seconds. Less than five tenths of a second behind him was Tyler Farrar (Jelly Belly) and in third place was Espoirs rider Cameron Evans, less than two tenths of a second down on Farrar. Other men in the field included local Symmetrics riders Scott Goguen and Matt Usborne, and Saturn riders Will Frishchkorn and Eric Wohlberg, as well as Andrew Pinfold, Nat Faulkner and Gord Fraser.
In the women's field, powerhouse teams like Saturn and Rona are in attendance to challenge the race. In first place was Nina Krack with a time of one minute, 25 seconds. Within one second, Maria Lee and Andrea Hannos (Rona) were in second and third place respectively.
