January 23, 2010 – Registration is now open for Tour d’Afrique’s 2011 Indian Adventure, which will depart from the famous Taj Mahal in Agra, India on Saturday January 29th, 2011 heading towards the southern tip of India at Kanyakumari in a 46-day bicycle expedition.
We will pass through the colourful desert cities of Rajasthan; spend a couple days in the bustling metropolis of Mumbai; relax on the stunning beaches in Goa; visit the incredible ruins of Hampi; cycle through the undiscovered interior of Karnataka, pass through the princely city of Mysore; enjoy a day or two in a wildlife reserve; wander around the historic British hill station of Ooty; spin down from the heights of the Western Ghats to feast on the seafood in Cochin; and bike alongside the gorgeous backwaters of Kerela.
The Indian Adventure Bicycle Expedition features 37 riding days, each ranging from 40 – 125 km, as well as 9 rest days.
Support and Accommodations
The Indian Adventure Bicycle Expedition includes a couple tour leaders and a support vehicle.
Unlike some of our other Expeditions, there is no chef on this tour. In India, you are never far from a restaurant or road side stall selling some of the world’s tastiest foods. On this tour you decide what, when, where and with whom you want to eat!
There is no camping on the expedition and we will be staying in comfortable budget hotels each night although we will certainly throw in some very pleasant surprises!
