June 21, 2003 (Squamish, BC) – A grueling 67km cross country race with over 1200 metres of climbing, 35km of singletrack, sold out to 800 + racers, otherwise known as the Test of Metal, took place this weekend!

None other than Rocky Mountain/Crystal Decisions rider Lesley Tomlinson took the win in the women's  field of 174 riders. Completing the race with a time of three hours and nineteen minutes Tomlinson bested Bike Barn racer Sarah Noble who was second, just over two minutes down. Sandra Walter (Kappa) rounded out the top three spots in the women's category.

In the men's race it was Andrew Kyle who completed the course with the fastest time of 2 hours and 42 minutes, 42 sec. In second place was Carter Hovey, (only 24 seconds back), and in third, Mathew Martindill. The men's race had 651 racers!
