The announcement was made at the Cisco Milton Pan Am/Parapan Am Velodrome with iconic Curt Harnett, TO2015 Team Canada Chef de Mission, on hand along with Jacques Landry, High Performance Director, Cycling Canada, Gord Krantz, Mayor of Milton and a number of athletes including Monique Sullivan, the Canadian Women’s Team Pursuit squad, and others.
Check out our video below of the proceedings as Toronto hosts the 17th edition of the Games that are expected to draw 6,135 athletes, while the Parapan Games (Aug. 7-15) will bring in over 1,600. Some 20,000 volunteers are needed to facilitate the running the 364 events in 36 sports of the Pan Am Games and the 449 events in 15 sports of the Parapan Games.
